"Mystery on the Appalachian Trail"
In the series premiere, watch as our team of experts revisit a crime scene deep in the woods on the Appalachian Trail. Can two psychics and a paranormal investigator uncover new clues in the unsolved murders of hikers Julianne Williams and Laura “Lollie” Winans?

Last nights episode was the first of two original pilots we taped late last year.

It sucks that a hate crime like this should occur at all, let alone on a camping trip. People camp to become more one with nature and to ESCAPE life's problems for a little while. Violent attacks in the wild like this are rare, but they obviously do happen. You are never totally "safe" from deranged monsters like this, no matter where you go.

I'll add more later...

Questions? Comments?

The accuracy with which both John and Carla hit on things (and most of it never revealed to the public) was amazing to me on this one.

When Carla stopped you right in the area of the marker that was only sticking out of the ground a couple of inches and covered by snow and leaves was wild.

I have a question...since the show has started and episodes have been on the air..has the public helped with anymore information in trying to solve some of these cases?

yes, this was another tragic story of lives lost (and which murder isn't?!). I think this episode was saddening because it apparently revealed deliberate and cruel tactics used to subdue the women before they were killed by this lunatic. I felt the fear in this one -a small part of what Julie and Lollie must have felt to have encountered the man alone in the woods, only to be physically subdued and murdered. and for no other reason than for their sexual identity.

in our broken world this is unfortunately the result of radical religion, which, when carried to the extreme, blackens the eyes of all who claim a faith in a sovereign being. this guy thought he had the answer -and that wrongly! whether one holds to these women's view of life partners or not, murder is NOT justified! no matter whom the person claims to be nor no matter how closely one claims they are to God, He does not empower one to bring vengence on another! I hope the clues y'all provided lead to his capture because I take personal offense in his selfish motives for this act. again, murder is never justified, no matter what the religion is!

I was amazed that John and Carla were able to pick up the hard clues so well -the slit throats, the bound hands by duct tape, the individual killings, and the sleeping bag zipped up with the body in it! I was also amazed that they picked up non-evident clues, such as the dog putting his nose between the person's legs and that the killer approached the women calmly and then he suddenly attacked -as if instantaneously provoked and then his response.

I have to believe that we do not see ALL the evidence you three found and turned over to the authorities. it stands to reason that some things are not to be known by the public in each of these cases in order to prevent tipping off the killer to the investigation closing in.

again, fine job you three! enjoyed the re-formatting of this one. and especially loved being able to see it with open eyes -not forcing myself to stay awake at 4am like I did the first time I saw it!!

Very Happy

I was impressed with this one...and yes you are right "Hate Crimes" are perhaps the worst of them all...Everone has the right to live as they choose as long as it does not hurt anyone....I too feel that the 3 of you worked as a well oiled wheel...Props Patrick Dance

Perhaps I missed it but what happened to their dog?

I think they said it was found by either other campers or a park ranger, which lead them to find the bodies.

Overall, this was a tough episode to watch, especially with the grisly fashion in which the murders took place. I grew up near a large wooded area where simliar murders (victims being bound and throats slit) too place, so this one touched a nerve with me.

I am a big believer in animals know more and feel more than what humans give them credit for....Maybe bringing the dog back to the site or letting the dog see the suspect might turn the case...

I am a retired FBI Agent and I investigated the Shenandoah Nat. Park murders in July 1996. I was channel surfing a few nights ago and came across Tru TV and caught the very end of the show regarding these murders. I would like to see that show if possible. I searched my TV menue but no luck. Feel free to contact me at any time, I would greatly appreciate any assistance. I just registered at this site after researching this matter on line. A park ranger & I interviewed a psycic man at that time, perhaps that was mentioned in the show? Regards. Doug Hess, Springfield, Pa. e-mail: JoesAttic4us@aol.com tel: 610-328-4963
