Ok as per GG

Ok Ghostgeek Patrick wanted me to post how I did my “mission statement” that I did up for a cold investigation for Springvale Park in the Inman Park area.

Ok the base format I used was the Five-line Operation Order that is used to give orders to troops for anything from recon missions to rescue to even just setting up camp. It follows the true basics of the 5 W’s and 1 H; Who, What, Where, When, Why and How. Ok the following is the bare bone basics:

Short easy version:

Date: (of the investigation)
Unit: (investigators or group)
Site: (location of investigation)
Situation: (reason you’re going to the place)
Mission: (What are you going to do there?)
Intent: (How are you going to do it?)
Logistics: (Equipment, contact numbers, weather, hazards, anything important)

Ok here is a bigger break down of it:

Line 1: Is the Standard Date and Time and who you are and location

Line 2: Situation; why are you going to investigate, i.e.: cold spots felt by owner, or history of strange phenomena etc.

Line 3: Mission; what are you going in there to do?

Line 4: Mission Intent; how are you going to do it.

Line 5: Logistics; Property location, contact info of owner/ manager, hazards, equipment needed, weather, parking info, and you can list the team with contact numbers, also any specialized phone numbers or info

Here is mine from the other week.

Line 1:
• DATE AND TIME: October 12th 1900- 2300 (7pm to 11pm)
• UNIT(s): Ghost Hounds (either list the group or individual names of the investigators)
• OPERATION ORDER: 07-12-1 (this is the case number either you assign or if one is already set for it. I do it as month and day and the 1 is for first case load.
• REFERENCES: Basic Para guides and Group procedures. (or maps or even books on the area that you would like the investigators to be briefed on)
• TIME ZONE: Eastern Time (self explanatory but not totally necessary)
• SITE: Springvale Park, Atlanta Georgia; on the cross roads of Elizabeth Street and Euclid Avenue in Inman / Candler Park. Park hours: Closed from 11pm till 6am. (Map Links can also be used here)
Line 2:
• SITUATION: Park is in a known Civil War encounter area; story has it that after the war @ 3000 soldiers, both North and South were buried in various areas around the Inman / Candler Park area. After the war ended the bodies were exhumed and transported to various cemeteries for proper burial. The total count came up @300 bodies short, so they are presumed to still be buried within the Inman / Candler Park area. Some even hint that they might be the source of paranormal activities in the area. At least one house bordering the park has had activity witnessed within.

Line 3:
• MISSION: This will be a cold reading; we will be investigating the park and surrounding area for any signs of the paranormal, using scientific methods.
Line 4:
• EXECUTION INTENT: Walking scan of the park area with EMF detectors, log and map any anomalies, also using Audio Recording Devices to acquire EVP’s, while conducting EMF sweeps. Photos and Video, Infrared and regular, to be taken at random or near high activity zones as time permit
Line 5:
• LOCATION LOGISTICS:
• HAZARDS: Pond in middle of park, limited visibility, insects, animals (people bring dogs here), human element (remember not every person has good intentions). (best to do a recon of the area/ property so you can best let others know what to expect)
• WEATHER: Sunset 7:08 p.m.; partly cloudy, with a high near 82;
• Note: New Moon: Thursday October 11 at 1:01 a.m.
And if you have other information to add just send and additional message that looks like this, just show the changes from the prior order and then the additions:

FragOrd: 07 12 1 A (same order number as above with an A to show it’s an addition)
• DATE AND TIME: October 11th 1900- 2300 (7pm to 11pm)
• LOCATION LOGISTICS:
• PARKING: There are limited parking around both of the park areas, there is free parking at the Inman Park/ Reynolds Town Marta Station which is within walking distance and it is patrolled by Marta Police so it is somewhat a secure area.
• WEATHER: Still looking for a dry evening, but be prepared: clothing for the temp and a jacket for rain (we will store in one of the equipment vehicles.
• EQUIPMENT:
• STANDARD EQUIPMENT:
 Suitable Clothing for the location and environment (outdoors, always prepare for rain or temperature drops).
 Pens, Pencils, Markers and paper/ notebooks, make sure you have plenty for recording data and taking notes. Investigation data sheets/ with maps will be provided at the site.
 Flashlights and extra batteries, and since it will be a new moon it will be very dark, which makes the water hazard even more prominent.
 Open mind and cool nerves, we really don’t want any “DUDE RUN!!” incidents.
 Batteries lots and lots of batteries for your equipment

• SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT:
 EMF device or K2 meter
 Audio Recording devices either digital or analog make sure you have extended microphones for the tape driven devices as not to get the devices gear turning in the recording. Wind screens for microphones will be useful since we are doing an outdoor investigation it will cut down on the wind effect on the recordings.
 Video Camera/ Camcorders are all welcomed make sure you have IR extenders for night shooting. Standard lights will also be acceptable but remember to watch for people shooting in night shot or IR.
 35mm or Digital cameras with assorted light sources
 Tripods and any other equipment that you can use for your equipment

You really don’t have to go as extensive as I did but as long as you cover the main meaning of the Mission Order you’re good to go.

Hope that helps, this format is flexable as you can add to it as your investigation calls for.

Any questions feel free to PM or yell or call or even throw small rocks.
